Each cocoon has a emergence hole at one end, so these cocoons are not suitable for reeling There is a very small percentage of marking on the cocoons from the moths, these marks and the golden sericin all wash out in the de-gumming process (see our Info Page) and the marks do not dis-colour the fibre, the cocoons have been left intact so a small trim and clean is necessary before de-gumming – instructions on our Info page!
